Special Days

Special days allow us to extend our learning with life experiences.  We love to have parents participate with us on special days.  This is a valuable experience for both parent and child. We encourage you to begin taking part in your child’s education at an early age.  Some of these activities may be limited if health conditions require.

Parents are welcome to share their job with the class, especially during Community Worker week and our Health unit.

Parent volunteers can help with special projects in the classroom.

Parent volunteers work together to plan special snacks, crafts and games to help us celebrate our Nursery Rhyme party at the end of October and our Happy Birthday Jesus party at the end of December. Parents are given an idea book with suggestions to help in the planning.

The Preschoolers prepare special parties for our Mom’s Valentine Party, Grandparent’s Day the first of March and Dad’s Day in the spring.

The 3 year old classes have special visitors to extend their learning such as the Fire Marshall to teach fire safety and the librarian for story time.  Parents are always notified when visitors are coming to the classroom.

The 4 year old classes go on 4 field trips to enhance our learning.  We go to the Fire Station, Pumpkin Patch, Garden Center and a Farm. Parents drivers are background checked and must complete appropriate paperwork.

During Music class the Church Music Director teaches the students songs that they will sing in church 4 times during the school year:  Saturday evening service in October, Christmas service on a Sun. afternoon in December, the first Sunday in March and the end of April. This is a great way for us to thank the congregation for their support and for the children to share their love of Jesus with their joyous singing.
